Designed by Earl Lawson, this kitchen features a custom Ridgeway
door style with a 3” stile and rail. The finishes are Signature
Designer White with Pewter Highlight on closed-grain hardwood
and a custom blue-grey stain on Lyptus.
This kitchen project was part of a total renovation of a
waterfront property. The design plan was to take a dark, dated,
traditional home, and turn in into a fresh French country
residence with a modern Transitional edge. As a key component of
the overall finish, the kitchen led the way in creating the
overall interior design style.
The finishes for the kitchen were key elements. Beaded inset
style cabinetry was selected to characterize traditional,
high-quality, old world craftsmanship. A mitered, beaded
Ridgeway door was placed in the inset casework, bringing a clean
transitional look to the cabinetry. The main body of the
cabinetry was finished in Signature Frosty White paint with
Pewter Highlights, and was contrasted with the tall “appliance”
wall, which is a custom blue-grey stained Lyptus with Black
Highlights. All upper cabinetry was planned as counter/wall
units to provide additional storage. To lighten the look of
these units, the doors were fitted with leaded “Antique Remy”
glass. Limestone countertops, a stainless/limestone hood fan
canopy, and unique stone tile backsplash provided the finishing
detail. |
