Designed by Gary Henley, this kitchen features an Inset Country
French Square door style finished in Keepsake Frosty White flat
sheen on closed grain hardwood with Green-Core Plus box
construction.
The customer found Crystal through Crystal’s web site. She was
searching for a cabinet manufacturer that used green materials.
The homeowners have several chemical allergies and were building
a home as chemical-free as possible. They wanted to omit any
products with added formaldehyde and chose Crystal’s Green-Core
cabinetry. Dust was another concern and was solved by stacking
cabinets to the ceiling.
Crystal was put the test with all of the customization. The hood
was cut down and a recessed rosette was added. An arched valance
was designed with an 80” radius over the sink with the same
matching recessed rosette. The 80” radius was crucial so that it
matched the window. Ovolos were used with no plinth block at the
top of the base end panels so we could radius the counters to
match. Not wanting a 90-degree crown at the ceiling, Gary did a
special request for the top plinth to be chamfered 45 degrees.
Bun feet were used as were continues wood bottoms. The stacked
cabinets with leaded antique seeded glass really added to the
look of the kitchen.
