KCMA
Environmental Stewardship Program |
Crystal Cabinet Works, Inc.'s cabinet manufacturing
facilities have recently achieved certification under the
Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association's new Environmental
Stewardship Program (ESP). Crystal is proud to have been
directly involved with the development of the program, which is
designed as a framework for manufacturers to highlight sound
environmental business practices concerning: product and
process resource management, air quality, environmental
management policies and systems, and community relations.

The KCMA developed its ESP to build upon its previous
participation in the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)
Green Home Building Guidelines. Because Crystal has been
actively involved in green building initiatives, no major
changes were required in its operations or products in order to
achieve compliance. Among Crystal's environmental business
practices recognized by this certification are wood products
compliant with the Composite Panel Association's Environmentally-Preferable Product (EPP)
designation and an aggressive system to track, reduce, and
recycle process wastes and emissions. Raw material compliance
requires third-party certification and the entire program
undergoes a thorough annual compliance review.
